Funeral directors charges

A full scale of charges is offered to meet every need and circumstance, after the initial interview has been held to discuss the services required from us. It is necessary that our funeral arranger gives you full written details of the funeral arrangements and expenditure in accordance with the SAIF code of practice to which we must adhere.

You must feel happy with the funeral commitment that you have undertaken. Should this not be the case, please contact us and we will be pleased to discuss matters with you further.

The estimate is divided into two separate parts, the funeral directors charges and disbursements (fees paid out on your behalf).

The funeral directors charges contain our professional fees and overhead costs, these include the provision of a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year on call rota, with the provision of a suitably equipped and dignified funeral 'home call' vehicle, our professional services in making the funeral arrangements and arranging documentation and necessary personal attendances.

The conveyance of the deceased to our private chapels, rest rooms and use of the same until the day of the funeral. An itemised estimate will be sent to you in the days following the funeral arrangements, we are required to ask you to sign this and return it to us prior to the funeral date.

Disbursements

Disbursements are essentially fees that we payout on your behalf. This means that any requirements you have such as extra flowers, press announcements, including crematorium, doctors etc, can be ordered and paid for by ourselves, to be passed on to you by way of the funeral account.

The final account

The final funeral account will be posted approximately 14 days after the funeral, where upon you have a further 28 days in which to settle it. Should you wish a bank or solicitor to deal with the estate please inform us and we will present our account directly to them.
